New Dawn Music Festival – Press Release

Festival History:

Rutgers University Radio ( WRSU 88.7 FM; ); will be hosting our annual New Dawn Music Festival ( NDMF ), entertainment series at Boyd Park, located at Route 18 East - New Brunswick, New Jersey, on May 29, - June 02, 2003.
The NDMF will highlight a diverse genre of festival music, e.g.- featuring, Jazz, Spoken word Blues and Rock and Roll. NDMF will feature multi-talented performers that appeal to all ages, cultures and genders. This occasion is designed to be a family affair weekend; affording an atmosphere of fun, games and food, Adjacent to the annual Family Day Carnival, also held in Boyd Park.
Boyd Park is located in central New Jersey about 5 minutes from the N.J. Turnpike. Middlesex County also known as the "Heart" of New Jersey is located squarely in the center of New Jersey and stretches from the Rahway River south to Mercer and Monmouth Counties. The county is 318 square miles in size, has 25 municipalities which includes the City of New Brunswick which includes extensive industrial, office, and residential areas.

Portions of the show will also feature live broadcast on Rutgers University Radio via WRSU - 88.7 FM; our local broadcast area is a 50 mile radius from New Brunswick, N. J., reaching out into parts of Philadelphia and the New York area.
The series will also consist of music by WRSU DJs, along with our NDMF -House Band; serving as an interlude to the performers scheduled to showcase their skills and
talents. The headline musical acts will join us from major and independent professional recording labels.
