About The African New Dawn Broadcast
What is the radio broadcast's format? Who are the people involved? How can I be involved with the broadcast? What are your plans for the future?
The show was founded around 1994 by Alvin Fair. After its first year, Big Quasar joined on the broadcast & DJ Fusion joined in 1998. The broadcast is held regularly on Sunday evenings from 8-9 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.

The Rutgers Univ. Radio Station, WRSU 88.7 FM, has a 50 mile radius from it's location in central New Jersey in the city of New Brunswick.

Our musical focus on the music influenced by the African & African-American Diaspora (such as rap, soul, house, jazz, funk, hip-hop, reggae, soca, blues, r&b, etc.).

About once a month, we have specials focusing on a specific form of this music.

African New Dawn also extends interviews to new, unknown, un(der) exposed and established music artists, businesspeople and activists.

There is also a focus on news issues affecting the local, statewide, national and global community.

Now we are in the process of having our shows rebroadcast on the internet (most likely through another music site until WRSU connects live to the internet in 2001) soon along with exclusive DJ Fusion mixes.

African New Dawn is always looking for new talent and persons to interview & give exposure on our broadcast. We are also CONSTANTLY looking for new music to put on. Some of the programs that are in the process of being implemented for the fall 2002 & spring 2003 seasons are various concert & performance events on & off the Rutgers University campus, a music conference in the spring, a 4 day music festival in the sping & live broadcasts, just to name a few.

Contact DJ Fusion at(newdawnfest@ureach.com) about any of these opportunities.
